What I've Been Buying

Star Lytes Candles - 99p / Wicker Heart - 99p / The Wave - £1.99

I haven't done a little post like this in a while and recently I've been buying quite a few things, so I decided to show you all my recent bargain buys. There's a shop in my little town called Discount UK, which is sort of like Home Bargains and some of the other discount stores, and it's really good for picking up little bits. Admittedly there is a lot of just absolute crap in these shops but especially at this time of year you really can find some amazing things if you take the time to look. I usually go there for my deodorant  make up wipes, cotton pads etc etc just because its so cheap and you literally save a lot of money.

At the minute I'm a total candle addict and this shop is definitely the best place for anything like that. These Star Lytes candles were 99p each and up to now I'm burning the red one, which is Cherry. I've had it on for a few hours each day and its lasted nearly a week already... the wax isn't even half way down the jar yet! How good? At 99p I don't really think I'd complain if they weren't too good anyway.

The cute heart was only 99p too and I wanted to spruce up my room a little because it's quite boring at the minute. I love anything that looks quite vintagy and shabby so this was perfect! I've got my eye on a few other things so no doubt there will be more to come for my room.

The last thing I bought was this Wave contraption. I can remember seeing it advertised on the television agers ago and thinking 'I'd really like to try that' but it was always super expensive. Well, I found this and was literally like 'I'm having that!' I haven't even used it yet and to be honest I don't really know why I bought it but... impulse buy! No doubt there'll be a little review of that soon.

Boughs of Holly Primark Candle

Primark Boughs of Holly Scented Candle - £1.00

At the minute everyone seems to be going totally crazy about candles, whether they're the infamous Yankee candles or the NEOM variety. I'm an absolutely massive lover of candles and recently I've had one on nearly every day... I think I get this from my Mum because she loves them too! I can't use the excuse of being a 'poor student' anymore but still I really cannot afford to spend £15 plus on a candle, even if they do last a while etc etc. I have a really cute birdcage style candle holder that I use a lot but obviously the little tea lights aren't the same as having something amazing in a jar that lasts for weeks.

I spotted this little beauty in Primark yesterday and it went straight into the basket without a second's hesitation. It looked like a lot of people had the same idea as me too, as there weren't a lot of them left on the shelves. For £1.00 I think its a totally amazing buy and yes, maybe its not as amazing as the smell of a Yankee Christmas candle, but I'd say its pretty close. I can't really put my finger on the exact smell of this candle, but it just smells really festive and christmasy. Next time I'm in Primark I'm definitely going to look for different scents and stock up for a few months. I just find it silly that you could literally have £15 candles for the price you'd pay for a single one... does anyone else share this?

Are you a candle lover? What's your favourite?

My Very Own Scrabble Pillow

Scrabble Pillow - £3

How cute is this pillow?! As soon as I saw the post Stacey did about these on here blog, I had to have one. I love anything different and I'd seen everything scrabble-related, apart from pillows, so it was obvious I'd be getting one. Stacey makes these herself from scratch, and is still taking offers until the 14th September, so you've still got time to get your hands on one of these! You can choose any letter, as well as numbers and punctuation to put on the cushion - I wish I wasn't so poor at the minute or I'd have a million of these by now. At £3 they're amazingly good value and just from looking at the pillow you can tell they're made really well too - overall I'm so impressed.

You can find more details about the pillows on Stacey's blog here. They're the perfect little gift and I challenge you to find someone who wouldn't love this. Super cute and amazing idea!

What do you think?
