Real Techniques Foundation Brush

I recently jumped on the Real Technique bandwagon and decided to invest in the Core Collection, and I can honestly it was the best £16.00 I've ever spent. I bought them from Amazon so they were a little cheaper than the usual price, which is always a bonus. I reviewed them here if anyone is interested in taking a peek too. Anyway, I the only point I'd make is that the foundation brush you receive in this collection is so tiny and I found that I really couldn't get a good finish with it.

I continued to use it anyway but I found it just took so long to apply my foundation because of the size of the brush, which to be honest I was a little disappointed in. I later saw that Real Techniques did a more suitable foundation brush on their website, so obviously I popped it on my Christmas list... and Santa was very good to me. This brush has an angled edge and is a lot bigger in size, which obviously makes applying foundation a lot quicker and easier.

It is really easy to build coverage with this brush too, and you really do get such a flawless look to your skin. Ever since I've started using Real Techniques brushes I haven't had one horrible steak of foundation, which is amazing in my opinion. I really like that the brush looks really sleek, and it is self standing too which is so handy to store it... but saying that I actually just tuck it into my Core Collection pouch. I've found that the other foundation brush is actually quite good for applying concealer, so I'm still getting use from it. Every cloud I guess.

I absolutely love these brushes and they continue to work for me every single time I use them. I'm already eyeing up some of the other sets and single brushes they have to offer, so there will more than likely be a lot more posts like this in the future.

  1. I thought the same about the foundation brush in the core collection set. I mostly use it for concealer too, and the stippling brush or the buffing brush for foundation- both of which I find give a lovely finish, but without taking forever to apply. I think maybe it depends on the type of foundation you use- perhaps its better suited to some than others? I'm not enough of an expert on these matters to know haha x

    1. Yeah it probably does :) I mainly use liquid foundation so I find the angled foundation brush is perfect for it. The Core Collection foundation brush is really good for concealer though, I think its much better suited. I often use the buffing brush to buff my foundation and powder in and it leaves it looking so good, I love Real Techniques :))

    1. What kind of foundation do you use lovely? I never think to use the buffing brush as I use liquid, but I often buff over my face after I apply foundation... think you get a really good flawless look! :)
